I saw a little worm after lights out extending out of a hole in a rock. It was about 1mm diameter and only saw it extend about an inch out the hole. It was very skittish so I couldn’t take a pic but I was able to do a quick sketch. It was able to suck it’s head and body inside itself, so think about pushing your inside out sleeve around the right way...that’s how it extended. It was segmented in dark and light stripes and reminded me of the armour on a millipede. Hubby thinks it may be a Bobbit worm. Any ideas would be very helpful and also if it’s a keeper or a burn the whole house down kind of thing. Thanks

Btw...no I have not been watching beetle juice.

By the sketch it could be a bobbitt, did the top part look like the teeth on the predator from the movie? If it did then it could be one. Without a picture it will be hard to positively id this guy though..
Honestly it’s mouth would have been tiny so even if I got a pic it would still be hard to make out. I’ll keep looking and hopefully I can get a photo of him

Peanut worm...good guy

Nice sketch ;)
Thank the gods it’s not a Bobbit! Those thing scare the bejebus out of me. At least I don’t have to nuke the town now. Australia has enough freaky creatures trying to kill us.
You’re lucky I was able to draw it coz the next description was going to be part of the male anatomy:eek:. Yes I know, mind in the gutter;)
Thanks @reef lover and @Reeferdood for the link. Took me to a very accurate description.

I've not seen a peanut worm with stripes and their tentacles tend to be very small. I wouldn't count out a Eunice (not necessarily a Bobbit variety). However the sleeve description would indicate a Peanut worm.

I've had one in my tank for several months that hitchhiked that has stripes like that. I decided to leave it in...haven't seen it in a few months. All know life still accounted for.

Looks like a peanut worm like others have said. Here are a few clips of mine for reference:
