About Us:
The Southern Maryland Marine Aquarium Society (SMMAS) is a friendly gathering of folks from all walks of life that share an interest in Marine Aquariums. It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or an expert, we welcome everyone. We have monthly meetings to exchange ideas, discuss current conditions in member’s tanks, share and trade corals, and plan field trips. Our goal is to educate ourselves as well as the general public about the saltwater aquarium hobby and to raise awareness of the delicate reefs we take care of, in and out of our aquariums.

Our meeting for tomorrow has been cancelled by COVID-19. The Library cancelled our meeting room. :(

Are you going to use 2x4 for the structure and then just skin it with a quality plywood? Or not use 2x4 at all?
It would need to be engineered quite well to be just plywood.

Almost every stand has at least a center support in the back and most have them in the front also. I am a fan of having the sides of the stand removable so you can get to each side of your sump. That is how my stand is and would highly recommend it. Also you can get the sump in through the side of your stand if you have center braces in the front and back.
