Well my new years resolution has a small list.....

1) Stay with the same gf, that was last years and it's working out pretty well !
2) Read at least 5 books on US history.
3) Frag LPS which is not currently aquacultured (to my knowledge)

So to fullfill my number 3 I started a-bit early.
My intentions are to start fragging and keeping record of LPS such as Scolymia, wellsophyllia, and Trachyphyllia. The list of these 3 could change, but for now those are the three I am going to focus on. Getting an early headstart I went to Bills (bbrothers) last night and he let me use his inland band saw ! That thing was awesome and thanks a-lot for letting me use it Bill !!!
So now for documentation....
Coral was brought from my house to bills in a beta cup, then after fragging (used RO/DI water through the bandsaw) super glued both halves to the bottom of a tupperware container. Then filled 3/4 way with water and put back into a styro cooler.
After getting home and having the 2 pieces in my tank for about an hour they had both fluffed up a-bit. Then you can see todays pictures as well. I will be back with pictures of feeding on Tuesday.
Also I am looking for 2.5"-3" frag plugs for these bad boys if anyone can help out :)

cool idea! would cutting it into fourths be too much? i dont think many if it all has tried that yet.

Very cool!! Can't wait to watch this one!

i am keeping my fingers crossed for you. good luck! i also have been looking for larger reef plugs.

You need plugs/chips? Let me know I make some custom chalice ones. Myzislow and losthere both use and love them for their high end LPS.

Thanks for all the encouragement everyone :)
Yeah I decided to frag rather than trade haha, there was a-lot of interest in it, however I deem this fair reasoning for not trading.
I thought about halves even thirds, but currently I want to start with just 2 pieces. In the future I will experiment thirds and fourths. Don't see myself taking it any further than that though haha.
Tonight the feeding tentacles are out and it will be getting some arctic pods, the big stuff will be coming Tuesday night ! WAHOO ! I LOVE SCOLYMIAS !

a local shop does it near me. my friend has a piece in his tank and is doing well. gl

That's great news ! Could you get them to chime in on this thread ? What do they put their scolys on to try and keep the circle shape ? How long have they been doing it ? Do you have any pics ?
I want to be successful in this journey and a good way to do that is to have advice from people with experience.
Thanks !

Pic of my baby opened up tonight :)

Now you can have a half price sale LOL !

Haha none of my scolys will be hitting the open market for quite some time, might be trying to trade sometimes next year for different color variations, but I have big plans for my propogation of these guys

do you know how they reproduce in the wild? itd be cool you could "mate" them. might be easier then fragging lol.

Haha I wish I knew !
Currently I will be experimenting, possibly doing a scolymia only tank..... We'll have to see !

You are crazy man!! and that is really cool! :D

If it works out later on try it on a rainbow one :P
