I'm sorry to hear that.
Of course that's not all what I have to say and don't take it the wrong either, but this hobby cost a lot of $$$$ for many of you guys and I'm not even counting the time we put in or better said the time it will take away from your family how ever you want to see that.
I'm always a firm believer to pay experienced company that does this for a living to take care of your tank while you're on your well deserved vacation.
Many times ppl will say "that's good for you if you can pay that person" yeah good point but really it doesn't cost more than $150 just for dropping in twice a week, feed the fish, overall check if all equipment is running good and maybe change out filter socks and clean skimmer cup.
Why is this IMO the only route........... well if you're sick you're not going to see a farmers market DIY cure guru that all kinds of herbs and juice will sell you, you going to see a doctor that will figure out in no time how to tackle what ever you need to be taken care off.
When I'm gone for work or just some time off I have a local aquarium maintenance company in Katy TX "Urban Aquatics" take care of my tank.
