Let me first say it bothered me significantly more then I expected it to. To the point of feeling silly. Largely because it was my fault. Benny was a peppermint hogfish and he must have jumped out as I turned to put the cover back on. I keep wishing I had glanced in the tank for even a minute as I’d have for sure noticed him being gone. RIP Benny

I would like to add another fish. I know this can be a challenge. But I’d like it to be about the same size 1.5-2.5”.

Current stock list
2 ocelarus clowns
1 pygmy angel blue / yellow
1 royal gramma
1 purple tang (6”)

What can I add now around that side, wrasse? Blenny? Do I have to use an acclimation box?

Thanks

Do you think the other fish will leave it alone?

The only one I’d see that may have issues unless you acclimate with any fish you put in is your female clown. Mine is about 3 inches and will kill any new fish I put in so I’m stuck with 5 fish in a 40 gallon. But again every fish is different. If you have access to an acclimation box I’d definitely use it.

I just know the tang is supposed to go in last, so worried about putting a new one in
I added mine after my tang, angelfish, and royal grama. My tang is a junvenille so its possible he's a lot less aggressive than he might be as an adult. He really doesn't bother any of my fish at all. I will say that I have an absolute ton of hiding spaces in my live rock so they alawys have a place to go hide if they want to.

Sorry for your loss.

I've lost several fish to jumping. My most recent was a possum wrasse. In this case, it was during a tank cleaning and we didn't see him until it was too late. I try to look around the tank after having the lid off for any reason. I know it feels horrible to lose one this way, but it does happen.

A wrasse would be a good addition and you don't have one now. What size tank do you have? There are a lot of peaceful wrasses that will get along in your tank.
