I’m not really sure what happened but went from SPS growing and coloring up nicely to RTN of even my hardiest SPS. It seems like from my experience what would be an alkalinity issue but my alk is tested often and stable as it always has been around 8.5. Strange thing is all water parameters are within recommended spec, zoas, hammer, Duncan, GSP, and my bubble tip nem seem unaffected. Snails are fine, coralline is spreading like crazy, and just overall the tank seems healthy except for anything SPS. Only think I can think of is I had a heater crap out on me and my temp dropped into the mid 70s for a day but I had that happen with a power outage years ago with no issue. Just very strange. The only good thing is we just bought a house and are moving in the next few weeks so I guess it’s a good time to start over. I just hate not knowing what happen. I’m debating sending out a water test to see if something contaminated the tank while my wife was cleaning.

I’m thinking about drying out all rock and starting fresh. anyone else have a several year old tank just start dying for no apparent reason?

Do you test mag ? And nitrate and phosphate ?
