Reef Octopus 1000 HoB has been giving me some trouble of late. Not working as well, developed a crack in the motor housing. So I took it apart, gave it a cleaning, patched the crack and then the silly thing refuses to work. Well, I found my problem. Evidently either on its own, or during disassembly the bleedin' spindle shaft sheared off!
Fortunately both it and the motor assembly can be replaced for $110 (paid $50 for it used months ago, so still way ahead, Whoo hoo!). But still, it's going to take time to get the replacement. I'm wondering if it's worth trying to to a rough repair job in the meantime?
