Just finished up the one month quarantine of a trio of scissor tail dart fish yesterday. They went into my 90 gallon Red Sea tank last night. The tank has a Clearview lid on it; 1/4" netting.

Fed the tank two hours ago, and enjoyed watching the trio go crazy for food. Just went into my tank room a few minutes ago, and the smallest one had managed to jump THROUGH the netting, and was laying on top of it dead.

Man. That sucks.

I feel your pain I just lost my zebra dart fish, had the screen top off for 10 min and she jumped.

I'm sad, but I really feel more bad for the poor fish. One day out of boring quarantine and in a nice, big tank, aaaaand dead.

Sorry to hear about your dart fish. I love dart fish, but man, they are so prone to jumping :(

I feel your pain... I've come to the conclusion that all gobies have a death wish. I had three bar gobies jump out through the egg crate I have over my quarantine tank.

Ah man that sucks so bad. I've had that happen too. I've even had a fish make it through my canopy rear with a screen on it somehow it wound up with a 1/4" gap between the screen and the rear of the tank rim is about a 1/4 spot and of course my blue throat wrasse found it

Had three and glass tops on my tank and All Three suicidal !!
Might as well call them Flying fish.

And in the same day, in my freshwater planted tank, one of my panda corys got killed by one of the peppered corys.

Today SUCKS

Sorry to hear about the loss... Always sad loosing a fish....even when it's got the soul of a demon inside of it and is hell bent in causing death and havoc in whatever tank you put it in..im in no way saying your fish was like this I'm just recalling on times were I've still been sad when a fish like that had died but I was still said... *cough* freshwater *cough cough* dovii...never like to see any fish die..at least you tried your best!

Thank you. I even have my quarantine setup with some decorations to make it more interesting while they are in there.

Thanks folks; I'm pretty bummed, but my macaw is crawling around on me trying to cheer me up, which is nice.

Always good to look at a positive. I have a yellow collar macaw. He crawls on me and poops. I swear he laughs after he does it.

Oh no, it was not 'dead', it was dead; zero question about it.

Well, you said it was only a few minutes... that fish was probably save-able... I had the same thing happen last week to a cardinal.... almost 15 minutes on the floor... pic of dead body in tank... alive and doing great today

Okay, I get it, but you were not there, I was. Step off.

Also, if you had actually read my post, I said I went into the room a few minutes ago, NOT that the fish had been on the floor for a few minutes.
