So in the process of doing a tank swap we noticed 2 weird looking guys. The flower looking one, there are 2 of one different rocks. The worm thing I have no idea but I scooped it out this morning and put it in an empty 10G tank until we know if it's a good guy or bad guy.

Pictures aren't the greatest, but the flower looking thing looks like aiptasia anemone....bad! The worm appears to be a bristle worm.

Aiptasia in the first two pictures, and the last one appears to be a regular bristleworm

Yea the pictures aren't great. I've heard of Aiptasia enough to know I don't want that at all. Great, tank swap and it's in there. At least only on two rocks right now so I should pull those rocks out? I don't know how else to get rid of it. And the worm that we thought was the worse thing, is a good thing in the tank? Man I'm loving this right now lol.

Pull the rocks out, and scrape it off with a scalpel or razor blade, and then put some superglue or epoxy over where it was to keep it from growing back, even the littlest piece left behind can regrow.

So I have someone I trust offering me a "trained" adult filefish for a really good price (cheaper than live aquaria). As we don't have any other coral right now I'm thinking to go with that. Is that is a bad idea?

How can I tell the difference between a standard bristleworm which is good, and a fireworm which is bad?

Regular bristle...theres no mistaking the fireworm...

Sounds like he needs to go back in and that stupid other stuff needs to get out lol. I'm guessing this may not be the last time I see that aiptaisa if we stay with saltwater tanks for a long time lol.
