Wellso folded brain coral? Is this okay?

Juat got it home. Yesterday was first pic and today it so fluffed up. Is this normal?

Looks fine to me. It seemed a little deflated in the first pic, but better in the second. I don't think there's anything to be concerned about, so just keep an eye on it (don't go moving it around).

When you feed the tank, is it showing a feeding response (putting out feeding tentacles)? If so, I'd try to target feed with a little mysis or whatever you are feeding the fish... not because there's anything wrong, but wellsophyllia do well with some supplemental feeding.

It looks okay. Weslophilla/trachaphilla will go through cycles of inflation and sometimes they get supper fluffy. If the coral gets sunken in against the skeleton for extended periods of time, the skeleton becomes exposed, bleaching occurs, or rotting occurs then I would be concerned. The feeding response on these corals is pretty good and if the feeding tentacles don't come out right away I would check the corals at night or give them some time and they will likely start to come out during normal feeding times. I would just make sure they can fit the food into their mouth. I once had a weslophilla try to eat 1/2 of a cocktail shrimp that an anemone rejected even though there was no way the weslophilla could consume its catch.

I paid $100 for it at my LFS. It's pretty big... maybe 7 inches or so across. They are gorgeous though. I am in love with it.

Ty so much Alex too for your advice. I'm still a newb and appreciate all advice. Trying to slowly fill up my tank and keep my coral babies... if you will... alive and happy!!

Update. Is this normal? Its inflated during the day. And now tonight I see this. Is it dying... pooping...? Help!!!

It is dark brown from 2 of its mouths and its a bit spider webbish around it in the sand.

Still looks okay. This can be considered normal behavior for waste removal. The coral should return to its normal look in a few hours.

Looks great man during the day they will inflate way out and at night they will retreat into their skeleton. This is what mine does at least
