Just curious really, I’ve always tough that my tank was run on low tech but today it got me thinking... what equipment does a tank need to be considered high tech? Is it how much you pay for equipment or just the amount of gear you have? Controllers , over rated protein skimmers etc...

Interesting question! High tech usually refers to cutting edge technology. IMO this may include the Neptune Trident, Hydros WaveEngine, Reefbot, and comparable. It is less about dollars or capabilities, and more about the technology that is used in a product or service.

I would think that if you own a controller, and it is controlling everything about your tank, then its a high tech tank.
