Went to bed, tank was fine, woke up...

So possible update on my corals?... it looks like the leather has begun shedding, which is either death or a good thing, right. Candy cane is still looking pretty bad and the mushroom on it is still shrunk up. Skeleton is starting to show through. Hammer looks like its growing new polyps? Or am I crazy? The base is white so I think it's dead. [emoji24] I didn't get a chance to test all yesterday but I will do so today. All new arrivals to the tank are doing well. Everyone is open and looking happy. I found a couple snails the other night I never knew I had. Just saw them again today. One was spewing white smoke looking stuff everywhere. Normal?

Glad the newest corals are doing ok and some of the others are rebounding it seems!

As for the snail smoke, yes that's normal. Lol. They are spawning when you see this.

Oh good, so that means more snails. Lol

You've gotten a lot of good advice already but I'll just reemphasize what others have said - 3 months is WAY too soon for splurging on coral. And get those random rocks from the wild outta there if you haven't already. Test your water for copper - never know what those rocks may have leached and copper is particularly bad.
Shoot for Sg of 1.025-26 but make the change slowly over a few water changes. Same with any increase in Ca or Alk - go slow.
Let this ecosystem mature quite a bit more, enjoy it as fish & cleanup crew only for another 6 months at least. Then start with easy and inexpensive corals - see how they do for a few months.
I have no idea if that light can really support coral but it sure doesn't look like one made for that purpose.

So I've got some great news, all the corals are doing better now. Even the candy cane is starting to grow back out a bit. I've switched over to a coralife (petco) t5 HO with a 10,000K and actinic bulb until I get one of the fancy LED/T5 combos. I figured out my issue, which most everyone guessed... it was my alk. It was about 4.5 so super low. I'm working on getting it back up slowly using some baking soda/RO mix. Thanks for everyone's help!
