I am building a APEX cabinet and the cables for Vortech are just too short. The power you can anywhere but I needing extension between controller and dry side. Anyone know where to get them? I saw a post were you can send into Ecotech and them will create a extension for like $50 but there has be other options. I got 4 MP's and don't want to be with out them. Thanks for any input

Here’s a DIY version. Sounds fairly strait forward if you’re willing to buy the tools/parts. Not a tutorial really but if you read the follow up posts you should get the jist.

Thanks may be an option... I work in IT and got folks that work in telcom so may not need the tools

I did find them but really know nothing about the company.. I take you were happy with them?
The company was great, I had no issues. As a matter of fact I made a mistake on the order and Emailed them. They corrected it and everything was perfect.. I would totally recommend them.

Just an FYI, there are two versions for the MP40. Make sure you get the right one. Hence me mentioning my mistake....

My MP40 is hard wired into the controller and the dry side of the pump. How do these cables from amazon help?

It is a connector inside, not directly soldered. So you need to take apart the controller, remove the pump, install the extension, reconnect.

Send it to ecotech and they will rewire it longer, avoiding any exposed wiring.

Dan at Aqua Life Studio has what you need. Its super easy to extend you Vortech cable using his. The Controller for the Vortech has small screws that you remove. Inside the control is prong connector like for a computer board. Unplug and snap in the extensions . Its that simple Dan turns out an outstanding products and the customer services was top notch. Great. I work in IT and when I got mine I knew they were well made. Dan also test everyone before shipping. If you any issue at all call Dan. Tell him I sent to them. I don't get anything from it just like small business know help were I can.

Just want to bump this thread in case anyone else searches for this topic. I have ordered three of these extension cables (Vectra M2 and 2x MP40's). All three have worked flawlessly. I even screwed up and ordered the wrong length. I immediately called and they got me sorted in a couple of minutes. If I ever need another of these or I build another tank...I won't hesitate to get them from AquaLifeStudio
