Yeah and one last thing, for water changes, if I were to use the saltwater from one fish store to fill up the tank would it be harmful to then use saltwater from another lfs during the water changes

the store i originally got the water from is about 2 hours away as there aren’t really any good lfs near me.

It’s definitely not the worst thing for me to get the water there and just try to get high amounts I was just wondering if there was an easier alternative

20 gallon is easy, 10% water change 2 gallons, 20% 4 gallons. Buy distilled water and mix your own

No but i did add a very small cuc during the cycle- 2 hermit crabs and 2 trochus snails

Ok so it has some livestock. IMO it’s a good time to add soft corals like that.

Water changes and get those fish in and feed. Those are forgiving corals they should eventually perk up.

As long as salinity and other parameters of the new water are similar to parameters of the existing water, you're good. It's best to avoid large water changes with, say, a new salt brand, and you would ideally make your own water, but water from a different LFS should be fine.

both moderate flow and light but I showed which powerhead and light I’m using earlier in the thread

In that case change the parameters gradually over the course of 3-4 days and let it be after that. They’re pretty tough corals so I doubt they’ll die

What would be the best method of increasing phosphates without increasing nitrates?

I believe you would have phosphates and silicates if the brown algae ( diatoms ) were not consuming it. Many unknowns, substrate, rocks, cycle method. I would not worry about the nitrates. I would also take the time to
practice with a reef chemistry calculator and adjust your parameters.

I would not think so . Do you have a spectrometer? Just make sure the salinity is what they say it is. I use a high alk salt. One box lasts at least 6 changes for my 2 tanks bearing in mind I have a zero waste RO system with a DI filter added. To me this should be your next priority
