Jawz Aquarium in Elmsford is a pretty nice store. Very helpful staff. I think they opened fairly recently.

If it’s the same people, it was in Elmsford at least 15 yrs ago, and this is at least their 3rd location in town. I believe that they were originally connected to an online store from Florida.
I was last there about a month ago, and I’m not sure if I’d waste my time going back.
There is Complete Aquarium in Bedford Hills which has been very successful (and expensive) for the past 20 years!

Just adding, Gills in Mamaroneck closed recently. I stopped by about a month ago and it was gutted with no warning. They lasted just over a year if I recall correctly.
 
Anyone know if the reef shop still does meet ups. I go there every once and a blue and pick the kid behind the counters brain, but it would sure be nice to make some new friends that if need be I can meet up with or have them come by and give me some steps ‍.

We can arrange a meet up somewhere if there is enough interest. not sure whether reef shopee has meet ups. Where r u from Luv2hated?

Hahahah very small world we are all so close. Where do you guys go for saltwater fish and supplies in the area. I been doing google searches and have only seen a place in East Fishkill and Mt Kisco.
 
Planning on a trip to pick up fish from ny aquatic soon

Both places are expensive... better off going down county or Bronx.
There was ‘the zoo’ in Peekskill, not sure if they survived the pandemic!

I live in Peekskill and I don't know of any stores in the immediate area. There was a great aquarium store in the Beach Shopping Center for many years, but they closed up shop a few years ago. Is that what you refer to as "the zoo"?

I've been going to Jawz aquarium in Elmsford recently.
 
No not that one. "Zoo" is in the city of Peekskill ( In Washington Street) . They were there for more than 15 years.
