Long time lurker on this forum and finally have most of my equipment ready to start my build. Still waiting on a custom sump but purchased a Waterbox 180.5. What is a “pro move” I should do to prep the wet side of my cabinet before putting in the sump? Silicon around the edges, is one thing I’ve read. Any feedback here? Thanks and excited to be part of this group.

Welcome to R2R!! Be sure to say hello in the meet and greet section :)

Picture of what your working with? People do all sorts of things to seal their cabinets from water damage.. epoxy, waterproof paint and shower liners are a few examples.

You mean the inside of the cabinet? If so, I'd suggest a couple coats of flexseal on the bottom and up a few inches. It will seal the inside of the cabinet very well and contain any (inevitable) leaks/spills safely in the stand rather than allowing it to end up on the floor around the tank. Your SO will thank you for that! Paint the rest of the interior white to maximize visibility. I have yet to hear anyone complain that seeing inside is just too easy!!
