Is this wet skimming?

I can't seem to get my skimmer to fill up the collection cup set any drier than this. If i set it drier, the skimmate just sticks to the inside neck of the cup and never gets into the bowl section. Photo is about 4-5 days of skimmate.

That doesn’t look “wet” to me. Wet skim is like tea colored. Like if I could drink it (if it were tea or course) then it’s wet. If it’s dark and sludgy like yours, definitely wouldn’t drink it. That’s my definition of wet vs dry!

Ok good! I was shooting for dry skimming, but since the cup fills up with liquid so much and isn't clumpy I was thinking it was still "wet".

It is very dark water, but isn't like thick sludge.

Because bio load varies from time to time; therefore if you dial your skimmer when bio load is low then when it is heavier, you get some wet skimmate. But if you dial to the heavy bio load, sometimes you get skimmate inside the cone of the swimmer's cup. There's no auto dial, :D:p:D

Yes that is why i set my skimmer when it is most active, so that it is set as low as possible to work properly when needed and not overflow.
