What’s a good one?

I’m stopping by my lfs this afternoon to get something to set my rocks up together. What is something that is good to use?

If you mean to join the rock together - use epoxy and superglue! I used Oatey fix-it stick - Lowes - ~4$ a stick. Works great.

I like to use Gorilla super glue GEL for the initial bonding (try to find points where the 2 rock surface naturally sort of "link" together). Let that dry then do a second coat of super glue on all the joints. Then 2 part epoxy around all the joints. I find the super glue alone is strong enough for small structures (probably some big ones as well) but definitely like to use the epoxy

I have, even got the employee at all 3 locations to help me find it. One of them don’t even sell it and the other 2 were out of stock and didn’t know when they would get them

I even went as far as calling 2 plumbing supply house that isn’t to far away and they didn’t have them

It will also be in the electrical section. They use that to seal the wires in pipes in an outside location.
But the water type super glue with sand takes out the step of using it.
Watch the video I posted and decide yourself. I myself, won't be going back to use the putty, only for mounting frags.

Not able to watch the video yet but planned on it. That my be the next option I have

It works - my build changed as I went along. Used all types and methods. Glue, sand, eppoxy in no particular order. They are all stuck and all look good now.

Considering everything that has happened in the last few days I am gonna get a little more in depth with the rock work on the rebuild

Does it work quick or is it one of those let sit for awhile type things? There was one I came across (forgot what brand) but you couldn’t build on to it much until the putty cured

The are pretty much all the same. Same ingredients, same color.
Minute mend is another one.
I used to buy it at my local electrical wholesaler.

I usually use the Seachem brand purple epoxy, but any 2 part your LFS sells should work. I would say the working time is about 5 minutes so only cut and mix as much as you can work with in that amount of time. I recommend wearing gloves and some sort of disposable tool your can use to push the epoxy into tight spaces (I tend to use bamboo skewers I can just toss when I am done). Also put paper down or work in an area that can get dirty. Also Also, you can press a piece of rock into the epoxy while it is drying to add texture. Can also use superglue and ruble to hide the epoxy if you want.

Here are a few photos, the first to are during the super glue stage. I don't have dry pictures of the epoxy stage but in the tank you can see the purple epoxy on all the joints. Also the arch on the right side was built the same way. I like using all purple rock when possible, but in the first few pictures I was out and had to use some white rock. Regardless I do like the purple epoxy so it eventually blends in with the coraline algae.
