I’ve been reading about the type of corals better to go with when it comes to clams. I currently have a Deresa clam (It’s a beautiful specimen with the rainbow iridescence on the edge of its mantle) and wondered what would be best to put with him? I’ve read that sweeper tentacles can sting them but don’t both SPS and LPS have sweeper tentacles? At the minute I’m thinking something along the lines of going stony dominant, possibly 1-2 SPS but I’m growing away from mushrooms for the most part (I’ve had my time of them in the nano but now the movement LPS adds is interesting to me). This specific clam won’t stay in the nano it’s whole life but will grow in the nano then I’ll attempt it with the Copper Band when it gets too big for my nano. Once that happens I’ll then restablize (Obviously I do this already) the calcium to hold something smaller like a Squamosa, Maxima or possibly a Crocea (Depending on how confident I feel, possibly going to try a different species before going onto Crocea though). Here’s a few older pictures of my current clam - The big reason I won’t have too many SPS is my blenny took a liking to my first Acropora attempt.
