What’s Covering The Rocks

Good evening,

Need some help identifying what is covering the live rocks. Is a dark burgundy color very hard to come off. The sand bed is nice and clean it’s only growing on the rocks.

I thought coralline algae was more light purple. This is a very dark burgundy color. But I was hoping for coralline

Comes in many colors, red, green, purple, pink, orange and maroon.

Great photo my biocube has the exact same algea growing on the rocks. Very hard to remove too

Are you sure it's not cyano? Cyano can be hard to remove but does come off. I usually have to use a toothbrush to get it off.

Does it blow off the rocks with a turkey baster? If so, cyano!

Yes looks like Cyano. Chemi Clean will clear it up in a day or two. Great product.

Coraline, lucky you. It's great having other colors in the reef tank. I have some of the same stuff that came from ocean live rock.
