What’s going on with this acan

so I’ve had this acan for about 5 months now and it’s been growing well and yesterday I notice this kinda grey thing on it on the die so I dipped it and little pieces of it came off but it’s still there

May have gotten stung or depending where it was located got stressed.
Is there other coral around it and what type?
Acans do best mid tank with moderate light and water flow and feeding 2-3X per week essential. Feed - Reef roids, Mysis shrimp and oyster eggs. Before placing to a new location, an iodine dip will help cure tissue. Very diluted dip

nothing is around it its in a sps dom tank which nothing has changed on it, it gets fed 3 times a week of reef roids and reef chill.Its never had a issue and has been very happy and growing heads like crazy

Looks like recession. Any shrimp or pests that could be eating it?

no shrimp, cuc consists of a pincushion urchin, hermits,snails, emerald crabs and a few starfish.

Specifically my orange acans have done the same thing in the past. Try lowering them a bit in the tank, and feed them, and then gauge their response.
