What’s going on?

So I’ve recently removed all of my fish from my dt and have noticed an influx in critters running around my sand bed and rock. I also found these tiny worm like critters no thicker then a human hair and well as some sort of baby snails (8) at the moment that I’ve seen at once. Is this because my tank is fallow and there isn’t fish snacking all the time?
