Hi just wondered if anyone can tell me what this is growing on the skeleton of my torch. It’s like clear coating with little raised mouth type things (see arrows in pic)? It’s starting to spread onto the rock too.

I’m thinking maybe just some sort of sponge sponge and it doesn’t seem to be doing any harm to the torch which fully extends over whatever this is during the day.

Any ideas?

Its sponge. If it gets bothersome you can remove it with a soft toothbrush

I thought as much. Torches are my favourite coral and I’ve got a couple of new ones coming next week so wanted to check and make sure it was nothing to worry about. Thanks a lot!
