What’s happening to my frogspawn

Alkalinity 9.3 dkh

Calcium 470 ppm

Magnesium 1470

Looks like the head melted to me. Almost looks like BJD(brown jelly disease).

phosphates at .03 is way to low for my liking. Have a nitrate number too?

Brown jelly disease? How do I fix that ? And yeah my nitrates are at 0

Do some research on BJD, you don't typically "fix" it. The coral ends up dying.

I would say though with 0 nitrates and .03 phosphates your more then likely just starving it.

Dying !?! That’s very disappointing And how do I raise my phosphates I do have reef roids would that help?

I prefer to dose just nitrates and phosphates without adding all the extra stuff that foods like reef roids adds.

Brightwell makes neonitro, and neophos, but there are many DIY additives that are just nitrate and phosphates also.

0 nitrate is definitely a problem and phosphate is on the low end too.

I do use reef roids for increasing phosphate. Works every time but I now quit feeding it regularly due to the phosphate increasing effect.

0.3 is high 0.03 is not

0.03 is not high for phosphate for LPS at all. You will get a lot of arguments about levels but put it this way. My “phosphate sensor” is my Duncan. If goes below 0.03 it will shiver up. I need no more proof

U probably can’t see it color wise but if I was to describe it I would say it’s a white curly string

Hard to tell in the all blue light. But if it isn't brown, then it's not BJD. More then likely just melting from starving to death.

Never had brown jelly so don’t have first hand experience but read chemiclean have positive effects on it

I actually corrected my post. I meant 0.03. And yes we agree 100% that is not high.

Well guys thanks for the help so far but for now till I find other ways to rise my phosphate how many time should I feed reef roids

You need to raise phosphates and nirtrates, not just phosphates.

In all honesty, I would worry more about 0 nitrates then .03 phosphates.
