What’s my alkalinity?!?!

So I’ve been getting lazy with my frag/coral QT tank. It’s a custom 60 AIO. I’ve been dosing kalk and it’s been stable for a few months at 8.x. I went down to check it today. 4.0. I test twice. Same Hanna meter that just registered 8.0 upstairs.

It’s so low that I can tell something’s wrong just by looking at the color of the curette after I add the alkalinity reagent. What’s surprising to me is that I haven’t lost a since acro. It’s possible this started because I swapped a few rocks last weekend.

I checked twice and the same checker shows normal ranges in my DT

Hello yes alkalinity could have dropped because you swapped some rocks out again depends how many rocks and did you add other ones where they dry or live ? Also maybe you need to up the dosing . When was the last time you checked the alk before?

The rocks were cooking for a few months, but no lights. I’ve honestly ignored the frag tank for some time now. Got lucky! I definitely seem to be riding a green thumb wave right now.
