What’s on my rock!

Hi fellow reefers,

first post here, I’m just looking for a bit of advice - there is something covering my rock and wondered what it is! Any help would be appreciated!

It’s been running for 8 months

Did it just happen? Was the rock acid washed or cleaned before tank set up

It’s been like that for the last few months. Parameters are all normal and stable. But no the rock wasn’t washed or cleaned. I’ve got vermatid snails AND cyano bacteria! It’s a bit of a pain!

It has more of a flow to it, it isn’t solid!

I would try to get rid of the verbatid snails cause they will become a problem later.

If you can’t clip them off then glue them

Yeah been doing that. I’m guessing they’ve come in on the rock. Any thoughts of the grey fluffy coating on my rocks?

Very hard to say but it’s possible old type of algae. Do you have hermit crabs

I got about 10 bubblebee snails and they did a number on the verbatid snails

Youll never get rid of em.. always one you miss.. plus i like them. The grab mysis and food when i feed the tank and my potters angel and copperband butterfly who dont eat food floating in the water.. eat them when the verbatides catch them.. its weird

I’ve got the one but was thinking of getting more, it’s a Fluval Evo 13.5, so not a huge tank

Okay thanks, yeah I mean they’re not disturbing the coral to be honest. And I suppose you’re right with the catching of the food!
