I noticed one side of my Sarcophyton has a clear or translucent film covering the base of it.

I don’t think it’s bacterial. It might be a type of hydroids but don’t have the stock/base. Trying to ID so I can treat.

Looks like it’s in partial shed due to lack of flow
gently brush the sides with a soft toothbrush and direct more flow towards the leather
