What’s on my trochus snail

[Angryminer_07]

Bought several at a LFS yesterday and just noticed this on one of them. It’s got a hard encrusted coral like base with little polyps that retract when you disturb him, and then will open back up a short while later. They are pretty small polyps.

Can you post the picture again? I do not see it showing up.

Sorry for the poor quality. It’s the best I can get with the polyps out.

Porites coral.

[Crabs McJones]

Look like a Porites coral.

Agreed, possibly goniopora or alevopora coral.

Awesome! Trochus and some sps for the price of 1!

Hopefully it survives. It’s got great extension and action.
