What’s on the rock?

I bought this live rock and this space was textured, but pink. I thought it was algae.

A week later, and it’s growing almost as fast as the hair algae bloom that’s hitting my tank. What is it?

Hard to tell but it looks like a little bit of coral has survived on what's left of the skeleton. Possibly a chalice?

I wanted coral for this tank, but wasn’t exactly ready for it yet. I’ll have to read up!
