What’s this little guy?

At first glance I thought it was aiptasia but it’s in the sand and it reacts to movement. I reached for it with my long tweezers and it retracted back into the sand when I was maybe an inch or so away from it. It isn’t moving location but I have noticed it retract when a hermit strolled by as well.

For size it’s maybe 1/8” at most probably smaller. Apologies I couldn’t snap a better pic

Aiptasia
ETA, I see you guessed that, but that's still what it looks like to me.
Since it's in the sand, you might be able to scoop it out with something like a small tupperware container without disturbing it too much. Then you don't have to screw around with chemicals.

It’s an aiptasia, they will sense and react to movement around them without necessarily actually being touched.

Turkey baster if it will fit into it. That way you also suck up any "babies" that it might release.

Its gone now. I use a metal straw on the end of my siphon to target remove things. Works wonders
