What’s this on my leather??

So this coral had been through a lot already this week, when I noticed this weird thing sticking out of it.

I bought it earlier this week, noticed it had aptasia on the rock it came with, tried to lemon juice and super glue the aptasia away, failed so I pulled the leather off and tossed the rock, re-glued yesterday to a new rock.

it looked a little unhappy after being in close quarters with the lemon juice
I thought it could be a new coral branch, but I thought they looked more lumpy with leathers.
any idea what this is? I haven’t had a chance to try to touch it yet.

Looks like a strand of algae that got caught. Just gently pick it off.

Could go in with a scalpel and remove dead tissue. Iodine dip after.
