What’s this snail?

Embedded into my hammer. Only pokes head out slightly and emits string like spit that seems to be bothering the flesh. Had to move it from other corals it was bothering.

Seems to me to be a vermetid snail (they form little spiral tubes and filter feed by sending out a mucus net to catch food - sometimes their nets irritate corals, as you've seen). They are considered pests and are known to reproduce quickly in aquaria. If you do a search on the forum here, you'll come across tons of threads about getting rid of them.
