What’s this white stuff

What is all this white stuff that comes when I turn off my return pump and start it again?? This only happens when I turn off my return pump and then start it back up, like it is stuck in the PVC tubing. (my sump is in my basement so a lot of PVC) It is all gone around 2-3 hours after turning back my return pump.

I am dosing NoPox and I have a feeling it has to do something with NoPox.

Is this dangerous to my corals or fish and how do I get rid of it?

It isnt detritus, bacteria mulm seems like a possibility just by the sound of that word haha. It is slimy.

I do use filter socks

Try cleaning your return pump. I use biopellets and the bacteria will collect on the impellers after some time and it is slimy. I haven't had any adverse effects from the excess bacteria.

It doesnt seem harmful at all, it has happened the last 3 times now. I just wanted to make sure it wasnt something I need to be concerned about either now or long term.

Bacteria will form wherever possible in efforts to break down nutrients in the tank, specifically if dosing carbon source. Expanding the homing potential of bacteria will likely balance this long term. Many use biological medias to expand the process. Cheers
