New to aquarium life, starting my corals and notice this on my hammer coral. Can anyone tell me what it is and if it’s harmful to my coral? It is red in color and branches out. Thank you.

very blurry to tell accurately what it is. to my untrained eye, it seems like a very small kenya tree branch that somehow got stuck on your hammer. does it move/sway with the water flow? has it increased in size? does it change(get smaller) when the lights are off? is it soft/hard?

That’s what I thought as well.

Agree, too blurry. Let's see if @ISpeakForTheSeas has an opinion.
Looks like a benthic foraminiferans to me (possibly Miniacina miniacea or a branching morphotype of Homotrema rubrum to me) - harmless filter feeders.

Edit: Probably M. miniacea.
