What’s up with my corals?

My Green star polyp has stopped opening. It did fine WhenI got it for a couple of weeks but has not opened in 2 days now. I just added the hammer and am wondering if the flow is too high. It opens (as seen in the video) but does not open as much as it did in the store when i bought it. I have a 32 gallon Biocube with a 530gph Sicce powerhead. Checked water parameters this morning.
Ammonia - 0
Alk- 8
Calcium- 400
Magnesium - 1340
Nitrate- 5
Nitrite- 0.1
Phosphate- 0
Salinity- 1.025
Temperature- 77.5
pH- 8.1

Can’t see the video but it’s probably okay. If your hammer is doing well I wouldn’t worry. My GSP throws a fit all the time, could be something as simple as a hermit walking on it. As long as only 1 coral in the tank isn’t happy, it shouldn’t be a massive issue

The last thing in the world to worry about is GSP. It'll grow like a weed. Concentrate on your hammer and your parameters.

And I guess that’s my main question is the hammer since it is brand new. I tried positioning my powerhead towards the top of the tank, but it still seems it is getting blown around more than it should. It is not near as open as it was when i bought it. Is the size powerhead too much? The GSP loved the high flow. Just a bit of a coincidence that the GSP closed up after adding the hammer

Your hammer is probably just adjusting to the new surroundings. (they do that) Hopefully your tank isn't "so new" that parameters fluctuate alot, that'll raise havoc with your hammer. GSP on the other hand might close for weeks and then one day start blooming. I have GSP growing on glass and have to trim it almost monthly.

The parameters of the tank don't fluctuate much at all. They have stayed fairly steady. I'll have a little more patience and see what happens.

Yeah, my perams weren’t off at all, the Duncan was the only thing upset and I probably have 50+ corals in the same water. Patience with it

Your hammer should be ok. Mine opens and close open and close and sometimes only midway and other days it spread wide open!

my hammers get loads of flow around 50-60x they seem to like the higher flow in my system, it took a few days for them to adjust. They are going on 6 months with lots of growth.

GSP is like a grumpy teenager it will close up for days at a time, i just ignore mine now. I used to panic and test everything and then panic more when everything tested normal. imo GSP should come with a warning "will close up for no apparent reason "

Don’t worry about you GSP. Anytime mine was moved it would pull in for a few days. It just needs time to adjust. And then it will just pull in at seemingly random times.

On flow I’m still learning that what I think is “too strong” is either just right or too light. So now I’m going with as long as the fish aren’t plastered against the glass and sand isn’t swirling then I’m good. Hahah

Moderate light and water flow and a little iron in the water nakes them happy
My first suspect is a false salinity reading as it has happened to many including myself
Calibrate salinity gage or take a water sample to a trusted LFS and have them test water for you to verify your readings
