What’s wrong? Carbon reactor

Recently got a media reactor to run carbon. I placed the first foam into the tube then added carbon then closed it with another piece of foam.

Fired it up, there’s a gap in the bottom of the carbon, is this normal? (I tapped a few time when pouring the carbon to make it settles down but still)

By chance you are using ROX carbon?

I do, and I have the same issue. It’s so light that even the slowest of flow causes it to shift in the reactor.

I pack my reactors with floss for this reason. Sponges just don’t hold it in place.
 
Not a big deal as long as the carbon stays in the cylinder, happens all the time.
