What’s wrong with my coral!? | Plz help!

not sure where you bought it from but it doesn’t look happy at all .

IMO moving frags is stressful on it’s own .
more often moving a unhappy frag will not end well .
How old is the tank ?
Parameters ?

If I’m correct it’s not a bad idea to acclimate new corals to the light. Also that coral might not be happy with where it’s placed. Try tweaking the light and/or moving the frag.

Don’t mean to flex but I’ve never had a frag that died but my tanks only 10 months old. Maybe I’ve just gotta lucky but I have about 23 different pieces in my tank so far and going strong.

I keep mine at
Alk 7.5
Cal 425
Nitrates 5
Phosphates .06
Salinity 1.025
I don’t test mag often but normally in the high 1300’s
8 bulb t5 lighting

The light looks really strong for a piece like that. Especially if you just moved it there.

Ok yeah most of the things I have tested for are fine acording to the chart.
I am using wills aquarium light.
I do feed the corals once or twice a week.
the alk has always been this high.
I use well water mixed with instant ocean salt.

I'd be wary of the well water also. Not using RoDi can cause unknown issues. This time of year there is all sorts of fertilizer and pesticides making their way into that water column depending on area.

So if I turn the lights down you think it will help? Or is it to late. Anything else to help save it?

My well water is tested yearly and does not seem to cause issues

What are you running them at currently? It's always best to at minimum start the coral on the sand bed for a few days.

The question should have been . Have you tested tds of the well water ?

is it piped into your house through copper or any other metals ?
Without a rodi is possible . And can be done depending on the water

No issues for you and no issues for coral are 2 completely different things.

I just put it straight onto rock. I will lower the light levels and do water change. Hope it will work.

I am not sure what metal piping is used.

What settings do you have the lights at?

The lights are at 3 on blue and 0 on white. I will turn the white up to a 2 when I feed the tank and watch it.
Is that out of 10 or out of 100? I had black box when I started and ran them at 20white 60 blue I think.
