Once finished acclimating I placed it in the tank was fine for 30 mins. 1 hour later I came back to see it has white spots all over it???? Is this ich?????? Fed the tank the fish ate as normal is swimming fine so not sure what’s wrong?

Yes that is ich more than likely.

A FW dip will determine if any flukes are present as well as provide some temporary relief from the ich until you figure out how you want to deal with it.

I read online it when tangs are stressed they can break out in these white spots which recover in 24-48 hours? Is this just nonsense then? Should I start up a quarantine tank?

Would be no point unless you intend to quarantine everything from this point forward, including removing the rest of your fish for a fallow period.

My blue tang had ich in the beginning, as well as some of my other tangs, but with good water quality and feeding high quality foods they can fight ich off. I haven't seen ich for many months, but it will always be in my system.

I'm not recommending to QT or not to QT, that's for you to decide.

Ekk literally just started the tank up a month ago not looking to go fallow, just going to keep up with water parameters and Hugh quality foods and hope for the best. Thanks.

How old is your tank? Do you check parameters?

Around a month old. Checked water parameters yday everything is nitrites and ammonia are both 0 and nitrates at 10ppm water change tomorrow too.

Stress reduces immune system. In turn the fish become more succeptable to parasites.

So there is some truth. The parasite has to he present though for it to happen.

Hi I’ve just checked the fish today and he seems to be fine? Not a single spot on him? Is this because he’s fought it off or?
