What’s wrong with my Monti?

I have had a Jason Fox Slow Burn Montipora for about 6 months and it has been growing like crazy. But when I looked at it today it looked white. Now I have had the light off for a day to reduce my Red Cyano down a little bit but I have done that before and for longer periods of time so I don’t think that is the problem. I would really appreciate someone’s advice and I would not like to lose this coral. Thanks

How high is your Alkalinity. One possibility is your nitrates and phosphates dropped with a higher alk level, or a swing in alk. What are all your current parameters? Any recent changes?

I don’t test for alkalinity and I will Check my other parameters tonight. To add to your last question I just did a water change

You need to test Ca,Alk, Mg, when you have SPS NO3 and PO4 help as well but not as important as the main 3. Alk can make or break a SPS tank.

Depending on what salt you use there’s a good chance your Alk is high even without dosing alk. It’s harder to keep things happy IMO with an alk much higher than 8 or so. If you keep Alk above 8 you have to make sure you keep your nitrate and phos above 0. A water change could have increased your alk and stressed the coral. Just ideas.

Looks like a good amount of GHA as well so your PO4 may be high.

When my monti's used to lose color like this it was always alk related.
