What’s wrong with my zoas

My zoanthids are barely opening and I haven’t found any Nudibranchs on them but I do see some clear;hair-like, pieces on some of the polyps. What is it ??

Definitely unhappy. Try moving them to a lower light and flow spot in the tank

Did you just add to tank recently? It Could be lighting intensity /spectrum. Sudden Water Parameters changing can cause them to close up. Using phosguard to long and the list goes on .

The look high up so it could be lighting, and if they're new it could be that.

At the LFS they looked great and when I first added them they look great but after a few days they just started closing up . And then I saw that my magnesium was at 1200 so I dosed some magnesium in the tank and they started to open up and haven’t opened fully since

It's the lighting acclimation IMO. Some of my zoas behaved the same way whenever I go in to tweak light settings. They seem fine for a few days then display there unhappiness by shrinking up and closing. I would move them lower.

This tank is about 3-4 months old and I stay on top of my parameters and I water change every 7-10 days and I do side my tank I got a black box LED and I don’t really know how bright or how blue to make the lights since it is dimmable.

Your tank looks really new. Doesn't look like you have much flow in there, I dont see any pumps in the tank. How did you magnesium get so low in such a small tank without lots of corals? How often do you do water changes? What type of parameters does your tank have for nitrates, phosphates, alk, PH?
