What’s wrong with torch coral?

Whats wrong with this torch I have had it for about 5 days and it still hasn’t really perked up yet. It does eat but just does look like a torch

What’s your lights and what is your nitrate and phosphate ?

I don’t know about phosphate as I can’t test for it. Nitrate is perfect and the lights are skye light clamp 18

I'm pretty sure that you have a grape coral(euphyllia crisitata) and they usually just look like that, where you can see the ridges on the skeleton since the flesh is kinda thin on the ridges. I’ve had mine for a while and it’s looks pretty healthy.

At the store when I got it, the polyps were very long and straight up moving with the flow like a torch does

It may be a verity of short tentacle torch.

Give it time to adjust to your light and flow. The greater your parameter stability, the long a torch coral will extent (in my experience). 80-200 PAR is about the range I find the best PE for euphyllia. Higher than that and I see shorter PE and faster growth (IME).

Feeding can slow this process down and it is not necessary most of the time.

Okay thank you. It has definitely started looking better when I got it. But just want to make sure for the health of my coral
