Okay I have had a tank running for a while with the same primaters as my new one I used the exact same salt made sure to cycle the tank. Anyways I added my brand new corals to my new waterbox marine 60.3 the only thing different about this tank was I was running a kessil 80 and now I’m running a AP700 I also have more water movement as before I basically had none when I added my bubble coral and the one other forgetting name now they are starting to close up the light is on its lowest setting at 1% now I was running a protein skimmer which I have never done before so I turned it off maybe thinking of skimming the tank to much is there any other issues anyone could think be why and before everyone shouts primaters at me there the exact same as the tank they were thriving in and check twice that there was no ammonia or nitrite I might just put them back in the old tank

I'm not a kessil guy but 1% seems low for coral...

What was your acclimatization process ? Also high nitrates may be in play.

As a general suggestion, getting some fish waste processing power going is critical before adding corals. Sure, we can find exceptions to that rule, but it is good one to go by. Got fish poop?

Until you have some detectable nitrates and phosphates and some fish turds flying in there, keep the corals back in the old system. Corals are the product of 160 million years of evolution which is hard enough to replicate in 6 months.

Do you have a way of detecting PAR? Running the AP700 at 1% power seems extremely low and, based on a quick search, the bubble coral needs moderate lighting.

Also, what are your nitrate levels? If you've cycled the tank but haven't done water changes to remove nitrates, you could have higher-than-ideal nitrates that could be affecting them.

Finally, how long have they been in the new tank? Part of it could just be they need some time before opening up. My goniapora took almost a week before it opened up and was happy again.
