What’s your typical vantage point?

Its Saturday morning, everyone’s still asleep (for a change), and I’m sitting quietly and enjoying the reef. I never thought about it but 90% of the time I view my tank from the same angle and vantage point. I wondered if it would be productive to rearrange the coral to better fit my viewing but as expected, what looks good from one spot looks horrible from the other. How many of you out there arranged your scape for your favorite vantage point versus the general location vantage point?

I had it in mind but honestly was going more for ease of maintenance. Figured if maintenance isn't easy, then I'm less likely to do it as needed and at that point it probably doesn't matter what your viewing angle is because the tank won't look good.

I can always get a higher chair.

It's a quiet Saturday morning here, also, and oddly enough I'm sitting here thinking about changing my aquascape. For me, the issue isn't how it looks from where I normally view it, but it's about growing coral better. Half of my tank is very unique in how it is set up and I used to love how it looks and how the fish react to it. Unfortunately, it just doesn't grow coral very well. The more mature my tank gets on the one side the less I like the other.

Odd things to consider on a quiet Saturday morning.

I try to set the tank up for the health, growth and wellbeing of the corals as well as my viewing pleasure.
If the corals are growing, tank is gonna look good from any vantage point.

It is, but it’s also comforting to have the rare peace and quiet to do it....

I'm usually HIDING from my wife...who has 6hrs hrs of TO-DO lists..... laundry, dishwasher, sweeping, shopping, organizing.

My house is NOT a place of restful refuge

In fact! She usually leaves me alone during "tank tinkering and maintenance " bc of the thousands upon thousands of dollars invested. My "tank tinkering " is the ONLY time I can escape major TO-DO lists.

I've spent 4hrs on tank tinkering before....only to finish and sit down.... never fails I sit for 3mins and here comes the wife, "Oh! Now that your done with that we need to work on blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah"
