I have been using Randy's recipe for a pretty long time. After watching a brs video I discovered that there is a whole other world out there, such as the all for reef. It's amazing that 1 supplement would handle all 3 major elements. This does seem kinda pricey so I will be looking for something else. Are there any similar products, that maybe combine 2 of the major elements?

On a side note, what minor elements supplement are most people using?

I use all for reef powder + extra iron + potassium. I used to use a hybrid of red sea calcium and brs soda ash with chaetogro, red sea potassium, and red sea iodine

Edit: I also dose magnesium but much less frequent than before all for reef

Tropic Marin Original Balling Method which includes a 3rd part for ionic balance.

All for Reef. It really is that easy.

BRS has AFR powder which is way less than it was before.

How large is your tank, and roughly how much do you dose? Mine is 75 gal, trying to determine how long a bottle will last. Are you also dosing minor elements?

Mines a 180 display with 30 sump and 20 frag. Not sure how much I am dosing because I have an uncalibrated Jebao doser but even with my size I mixed up 10l and I’m maybe half way through.

I have a 75 gallon and dose 65 ish ml a day.

I switched from Fusion to All4Reef recently.
Buy the powder form and mix your own its alot cheaper and really easy to mix if you bring water almost to a boil and let set for cpl minutes. Mixes clean that way with no residue.
Anyhow A4R isn't meant to raise params but to keep them stable.
What I did was dose Fusion alk everyday for first week to maintain my usage. Along with that I dosed 1/2 reccomended amount of A4R along with it. I checked alk before I did any dosing everyday prior to dosing.
Somewhere around day 5 or 7 I switched to A4R only @ 7-10 ml/day to maintain alk.
My alk usage is .5-1dkh/day
Mag 100/week
Cal 50-70/week
80 gallon tank about 120 total gallon system.
I had to dose ions for magnesium until recently and hoping A4R is able to maintain mag at acceptable level. A4R did nothing for my mag to date in fact It continued to deplete for first cpl weeks before I started dosing ions.
Cal and Alk stayed acceptable whole time.

This is basically what I did when I switched like 7 months ago. Slowly start dosing the AFR and monitor the levels and dose alk, calc and mag to maintain where you want them and then slowly wean off the 2 part. Your levels might not be exactly 9, 450, 1350 or whatever but they will level out to around the levels where the corals are using them in proportion. After a while just let them level off where they do and maybe do some maintenance dosing if one gets out of line.

Triton Core 7 base elements. The biggest problem is making sure the 3 parts are dosing equally. That seemingly simple task has gone awry many times. I'm considering All For Reef just because 1 part seems harder to mess up.

For sure all in all the A4R is great.
Thought I'd add that before switching to A4R i let my Mag deplete pretty low somewhere around 1270 before I started dosing ions.
I'll see what happens here in next cpl weeks now that ive got it back to acceptable levels i have a feeling the A4R will be able to maintain it or keep it close.

I also have to dose magnesium with all for reef.

Was not aware of this, you also need to dose minor elements, correct?
I would also like to point out that even with the added cost of AFR, I have completely stopped water changes which saves money as well.

Dang I was hoping to not hear that lol
Where do you keep your mag at?
I like to run mine a little high around 1500 because that's where my shrooms seem to like it.
I would have accepted 1400 though hoping I dont have to continue to dose mag!

This is awesome, I've often slacked on doing water changes so this would be great. You don't have to dose anything else with not doing the changes?
