What a day.

Part 1: Man what a day in reef keeping. Got home from work and I check out the tank. I can see the my Foxface (named Skittish) with something in his mouth. Looked like white string. I like at the return nozzle and he ate the teflon tape off it. I'm the idiot here I guess for using it but really not much was exposed for him even to get it. Took about 10 minutes to catch him but then he spit it out in the container.

Part 2: So i left to take my kid hunting after getting the teflon tape out of the foxface. I noticed last night my scopas tang acting a bit strange. Swimming all weird and some flashing but he stopped. I get home from hunting and the wife said "watch the tang" Flashing like crazy, just going nuts inside the tank and smacking the glass. I get on here and @vetteguy53081 said flukes. I guess it came in on a snail or coral as they the the two things i do not qt. Man i cant win. After 2 hours and draining half the tank we finally got him. He's in a QT tank now with prazi.

Im sure most of you have had issues like this before but this was my first time in my main tank. I had total die off in my nano before but fish are a lot easier to catch in a 15 gal tank.

I guess I'm wondering what would you have done differently so I can learned from this? And yes I removed all teflon tape. I'm an idiot.

Not an idiot, just a learning curve.
We've all done dumb stuff.

Once, my HOB skimmer went nuts and overflowed. I learned the importance of drip loop. As I grabbed the power strip, barefoot on wet tile might I add, I got quite the jolt!
Keep on going. I don't qt any coral, but I do dip every piece very well before introducing them into any of my tanks.
