Waited forever for the TLF Reborn media because it was out of stock . Finally received my order and this is the product you deliver ?
The picture on the left is the new media right out of the bag ( bag marked - Large-sized aragonite ) the picture on the right is my leftover media ( same company ) i purchased a year ago. What a difference in size.
Please explain TLF inc

Seems like they might have had to switch suppliers...you might just reach out to them to find out. They are a reputable long term business and from all indications a good company.

I'm in the same boat. Received the latest 44lbs box of a large media and topped off my new reactor with it.

I definitely noticed all the shells and concluded that its repackaged crushed coral...

A third of my reactor is filled with the old reborn. And the rest with the new stuff... I guess we will see how it turns out..

put a handful onto a plate and picked out all the shells and other contaminates:

They definitely shouldn't be labeling this as large media.

no need to reach out to them its obvious the product has changed, but the packaging has not. I am sure they are aware of this. I would return it if youre not happy and try another brands media. The old stuff was awesome but she gone.

Agreed 100% the bag I got from them is no different.
Could just be that they are finding it more difficult to get their hands on the product and we get whatever they can send our way.

Reactors may be a thing of the past due to availability, sux since I just built one lol

I wouldn't say that reactors will be a thing of the past. But I would say that melting dead coral to grow live coral may be a thing of the past. There are plenty of other options that will work inside a calcium reactor.

The reason why this was a preferred choice is because it's believed that melting dead coral also releases trace elements at the properly level for the corals to thrive.

I've got a sacrificial sps tank filled with slimer and green caps etc that I grow with 2 part, On the night of the blood moon, I take out about half of my colonies and let them dry outside. Once they are clean I use them as media in my calcium reactor to grow colorful satanic rainbow tenuis frags.
