What about using a projector?

This may be a moronic question, but with goals of specific par and specific, controllable colors, has anyone ever tried using a projector for reef lighting?

The thought has crossed my mind. It would be amazing if you could get the correct spectrum and intensity.

I guess it's down to testing with a tank and a par meter, which I unfortunately don't have access to.
