The last bit of the title is a bit of a joke. I have a habit of killing acros, no matter how hard I try. Yet this one seems to be surviving two months in. What's up with that? Did I luck out and get an easy acro?

Welcome to R2R!

2 months is a pretty good run. The fat lady is yet to sing but you are well past intermission now.

Throw in a few more now. Nothing rare or expensive just yet.
That's awesome to hear. Quick question though. I'm gonna be switching from my 100w nicrew to a 4 bulb 2ft T5 fixture this week. Do you think the switch will affect the acro negatively at all?

T5 is hands down the most forgiving light source in the hobby. I seem to switch lights (and tanks) every few years. It does help to have a measure of PAR "before" and "after", but less an issue when switching to T5. It is more of an issue when switching to LED as they often produce hot and cold spots on the reef.

Needs to grow a little more for a better guess but I would lean more towards cerealis. Post again when it’s grown a little bigger with more coralites on the branches. I am curious what others think on this one.

Depends on the PAR. I have mine around 450 PAR. Your PAR will probably double, so either drop it down, or suspend the lights higher at first (assuming it's not a dimmable T5). Good luck!

Isn't that cute! People trying to use their latin names. We only care about the trade name, so it has value! LOL RR Firecracker by the looks of it. I have one. Here is a link:

Definitely not RR Firecracker. The structure is not the same. Could be A Cerealis or possibly A Valida. Looks like a tricolor.

Ditto ScottB,
T5’s May not produce the crazy pop that we like to see sometimes but you can’t beat the health of the corals under them. I am starting a new build and I’m gonna go with the Reefbrite 2 bulb fixture that allows you to put an LED strip down the middle. I’m tired of walking a tightrope with new pieces and LED PAR on my current frag growout system.
