What additive if any do u guys use?

I am wondering what trace element and amino additives u guys use and how do u think they work? is acropower any good? how about brightwell replenish?

Personally I've used Acropower and some of the other supplements and in the end went back to weekly water charges. I didn't notice a big difference and the more things you add the more things can go wrong.

I dont kno whats in acropower all i kno is ive ben using it for 3 years and bought a dosing pump just for it , for couple years doing same routine same parameters same everything and once i started dosing it all my sps and my zoas started lookin crazyy good

Sponge Power, Pohls, Parts A/B, Kalk, Lugols, Strontium, Potassium, Magnesium Kent. I would not use them if I did not think there was a benefit to doing so. When it comes to supplements, more is NOT better. Tread lightly with amino acid or you might end up with a nasty cyano bloom or worse. Depending on which corals you choose to keep, I would stay away from dosing if water changes achieve the same goal, which is usually the case with the average tank. I dose specifically to grow acropora and alter coloration, that is usually not the case for most tanks.

Agreed. Nothing better than fish poop.

The only things I dose are Lugol's Solution and Vodka. Everything else is simply a waste of money. Yes, some additives will bring out certain colors and aid in growth, but the cost vs return isn't worth it. I have tried it all and seen positive results with many additives, but in the end that extra 5-10% gained in color/growth isn't worth the money spent, especially when it can destabilize your system and lead to problems down the road.

I've found the best thing to do is feed the reef plenty of food and make sure that you are properly exporting the waste. But, cost and budget is subjective so do as you may.
