What type of algae is this and what can I do to treat it?

Either cyanobacteria or dinoflagellates...hopefully the former.

Cyno. Try chemiclean. Works like a charm. Just make sure your skimmer is off. Otherwise if you don't want to go that route, you need to check your nutrient levels. Most likely you nitrates are up. Cut down of feeding some to help and run a refugium.

Cyano +1...Best bet is to siphon out as much as you can. Track down the problem - Lower phosphates/nutrients.

Are you using RODI water? Making it yourself or LFS?

Dinos or cyano. Could also be both.

Need more info about the tank and a positive ID to know how to resolve. There are some easy home tests for dinos. A $15 toy microscope from Amazon is a lot more though
